It is with a mixture of sadness and gratitude that we commemorate the life and death of our loving wife, mother and grandmother Anna Marie Gibbons (nee Molloy). She was born in St. Mary's on December 23, 1948. After finishing college, she embarked on her 37 year career as a Public Servant with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, Social Services Division. On December 20, 1969, she married her love, John Gibbons and they started their life journey raising their three wonderful children: Cheryl "Cherie" (Sheldon), Charlene (Darrin) and John (Jenn), as well as her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy: Courtney, Brent, Nicholas, Anna and sweet little Layla. After years of being apart, in 1996 she happily & lovingly reunited with her daughter, Colleen. Annie was an incredible woman and loved spending time with her family and friends, including her loving mother Elizabeth Molloy; brothers: Ronnie (Sylvia), Leonard (Vonnie), Cyril and Donald (Valerie); sisters: Madonna (Pat), Betty (Bill), Cecilia (Kevin), Theresa (Larry) and Martina and sister-in-law Marlene. She has many fond memories with members of the Gibbons and Molloy families as well as her extended circle of friends. On August 28, 2017, she parted from her family and she is now reunited with her Angels, including her dad Leonard; brothers Eddie John and Peter, grandparents Peter & Ellen Yetman; John & Rose Molloy, parents-in-law Sebastian & Dominica Gibbons; brothers-in-law: Tim and Vince Gibbons, Neil Fleming, Hughie Kielly and Ron Critch and sister-in-law Geraldine Gibbons-Brien. We invite you to join us in a celebration of her life during visitation held at Gibbons' Funeral Home, St. Mary's, on Wednesday, August 30 and Thursday, August 31, from 2 - 4pm; 7 - 9pm and Funeral Mass on Friday, September 1, at 10am, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, St. Mary's.
