Carl "Sport" Douglas Hudson
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carl "Sport" Douglas Hudson, 65 years, of Springhill on August 16, 2017 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS, with his loving family at his side. Born in Springhill, he was the youngest son of the late Milford and Viona (Hyndman) Hudson on December 27, 1951.
He loved to watch baseball games, was an avid hunter and was a devoted member of the AA Club in Springhill where he just celebrated 35 years of being alcohol free. He attended the Oxford Regional High School, was a graduate of the Springhill Community College as a plumber. He also worked at the Oxford Cobequid Lumber Co., Oxford Jct., until its closing, then many miscellaneous jobs after that. He loved to spend time with his only grandchild, Payton Quinn, who to her was "the other Grampy".
Carl "Sport" will be sadly missed by his partner of 23 years, Beverly Brown, Springhil, an only child, Carla Elizabeth (Mike) Quinn of Strathcona, NS; his only grandchild, Payton Klayre Elizabeth Quinn; sisters, Gloria (Hugh) Fraser, Hartford and Elizabeth (Dave Jensen) Hudson of Ottawa; brothers, Aubrey (Glenys) Hudson and Arnold Hudson both of Sechelt, BC; several nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers in law.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Albert Trueman in 1941, and Harold Leroy in 2000.Arrangements are under the care and direction of the W. Allen Funeral Home, 60 Water Street, Oxford, NS, (902-447-2167), where Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or Funeral Service by request. A Celebration of life will be held at the AA Hall, Springhill, at a later date.
Donations in Carl's "Sport's" memory may be made to the family or to a charity of your choice.
