Passed peacefully away at his home on Thursday, April 7th, 2011, after a lengthy illness, at the age of 78 years. He is predeceased by his son-in-law Francis Bartlett and granddaughter Linda Bartlett. Michael leaves with fond and loving memories, his wife of 54 years, Mary Eileen (Kelly) and their seven children and families: Mary Elaine and Don Barrett, children Karen (Jason), Michael (Courtney) and Neil at Harbour Grace; Michael Walsh; Margot Walsh; Sheila and Doug King, children Michelle and Sarah; Eileen Bartlett and her son Robert Bartlett; Kelly and Scott Thorne, children Owen and Emily; and Patricia and Auburn Warren, children Liam, Aidan, Conor and Daniel. He also leaves to mourn his sister Helen Battcock and sister-in-law Anne Walsh. Also predeceased by parents Michael and Ellen Walsh, brothers James and Edward and sisters Frances, Joan and Jean. Visitation took place at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Mass of Christian Burial took place at St. Patrick’s Church, Patrick Street on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. Interment followed at Holy Sepulchre. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to St. Patrick’s Church Heritage Restoration Fund.
