ROBERTSON, Elsie Beatrice (Murphy) — 86, of Hantsport, formerly of Centre Rawdon, Hants County, N.S., passed away peacefully after a brief illness, surrounded by her family, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, on Thursday, April 7, 2011. Born in Centre Rawdon on August 18, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Howard and Ethel (Brady) Murphy. Elsie lived most of her life in Rawdon and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her daughters, Beatrice (Charles) Deal, Judy (Richard Parker) Anthony, June (John) Hiscock, and Wanda (Chester) Chambers; sons, Doug (Carole), Kenny (Lynda), and Steven (Diane); 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; beloved friend and companion, Arthur Simms; several nieces and nephews. Elsie was predeceased by her husband of 50 plus years, Andrew “Scottie” Robertson (1995); oldest daughter, Helen Powell (2006); brothers, Kenneth, Raymond, Wiley, Sidney, Howard “Bill” and Roy. Arrangements for cremation were entrusted to Lohnes-DeMont Funeral Service Ltd., 419 Albert St., Windsor. There was no visitation or funeral service by Elsie’s request. A private family burial will be held at a later date. The family would like to say a special thank you to the nurses of Unit 200 at Hants Community Hospital, Dr. Cathryn Smith and Dr. Amer Ahmad.
