Lillian Moskovits
MOSKOVITS, LILLIAN - Lillian Moskovits of Gorge Road, Moncton and formerly of St. John’s, Newfoundland passed away at Moncton Hospital on Monday, April 18, 2011 at the age of 93. She was the daughter of the late Miriam and Paul Perletz. Lillian is survived by her daughter, Sarah Moskovits (Frank Cook) of Riverview, son, Richard Moskovits (Rosalind) of Salt Springs, NS and her cherished grand daughter, Jessica Miriam Cook. She was predeceased by her husband George in 2002. Lillian was born in New York City and trained as a nurse at Bellevue Hospital. She worked as a ward nurse during her younger years in Rhode Island, Connecticut, Texas and Virginia. In 1965 the family moved to Newfoundland, where she continued to pursue her nursing career as an instructor at the Grace General Hospital in St. John’s. She retired in 1982 and spent the next 29 years of her life pursuing her loves of music, reading, travel and spending time with family and friends. Lillian was beloved by her family and cherished by her friends. She touched all who met her with her dignity, grace, infectious laughter and joy of living. She will be greatly missed by all. The family would like to extent their heartfelt thanks to Paulette and Chris Wallace and the staff of Pro Tem Health Services, to Dr. Forbes and Dr. Cameron, as well as the staff of 4600 at the Moncton Hospital for the wonderful care shown to their mother, Lillian.
The family will be receiving friends and relatives at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007), on Saturday, April 23 from 2 to 4 pm, with a funeral service to take place in St. John’s, NF at a later date.
