It is with great sadness that the family of Olive Melendy say goodbye to a wonderful mother and grandmother. Passed away April 17, 2011, age 81, at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital after a brief illness. Predeceased by her husband Ralph (2005). Leaving with many fond memories sons: Nowell (Evelyn Hodder) and Gerry; daughters: Marilyn Reardon and Mildred Greeley (Darrin). Nan will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Roxanne Hancock (David), Sheldon Melendy (Angie), Christopher Melendy (Beth), Aimee Ryan (Mike), Andrea Greeley (Rob) and Bradley Greeley; her three great-grandchildren: Katherine and Emily Hancock and Alexander Melendy. Also leaving to mourn her brother Ralph (Bill) Barnes (Ruth); as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, Wednesday, April 20th 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 21st from St. David’s Presbyterian Church, Elizabeth Avenue. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to The Children’s Wish Foundation.
