Passed peacefully away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre on Monday, September 25, 2017, Sylvia Scott, age 80 years. Predeceased by her parents: Arch and Effie White of Corner Brook; brothers: Clayton and Alan. Leaving to mourn, her husband William; children: Bill (Lucy O'Driscoll), Diane (Bill Hiscock), Donna (John Neville) and Paul (Karen Armstrong); grandchildren: Will (Kandis), Melanie (James), Matthew (Emily-Ann), Justin (Melissa), Jonathan (Jessica), Steven (Kristan), Jessica and Jordan (Melissa); great-grandchildren: Oliva, Griffin, Liam and Abbie; siblings: Lloyd, Neal, Wayne (Barbara) and Carol (Pat); brother-in-law Russell (Muriel); life long friends: Josh and Ruby Shea, Rudel LeDrew, Larry and Beverley Grandy, Don and Gail Lambert and Don and Nancy Newell; nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 7-9 pm, Wednesday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service to take place at Barrett's Chapel, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Thursday, at 11 am. Interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sylvia's memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic.
