MacGREGOR (Lovett), Barbara Joan, RN – 68, Bible Hill. The family regrets to announce the passing of Barbara Joan (Lovett) MacGregor, after a lengthy illness, on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Colchester Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born May 11, 1942, in North Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Ethel (Burt) Lovett. (Leitches Creek). Barbara was an adherent of the United Church of Canada. She attended the Children’s Hospital School of Nursing, Halifax, and worked throughout the Maritimes, most recently at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, NS. Barbara is survived by Scott MacGregor; sons, Bruce (Sandra), Truro; Paul (Lori) and children, Elisha, Sarah, Emily, Anna, Fergus, Ontario; daughter, Heather Parrell (Stacey) and children, Catherine and Christopher, Deep River, Ontario; son-in-law, Glenn Parrell; sisters, Carol, Audrey (Bobby), Linda, Nina, Gail (Blair); brothers, Herbert (Marilyn), Roger (Rose) and David (Linda); numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her brother, Paul Lovett; brother-in-law, Donald Maxwell. Barbara enjoyed spending time with family and friends and most of all enjoyed her summers at the “Old Crows Nest” with sisters Nina, Linda, Carol and Audrey in Big Pond, Cape Breton. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Colchester Regional Hospital. Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Private family interment will be held in Calvin United Church Cemetery, Upper Leitches Creek, at a later date. Donations in Barbara’s memory to Kidney Foundation of Canada or Colchester Regional Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
