Mary Margaret ‘Dugan’ (MacLellan) MacNeil, passed away at the age of 85 years on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Arborstone Enhanced Care Nursing Home, Halifax.
Born in North Sydney, N.S., Mary Margaret was the daughter of Alexander ‘Cass’ MacLellan and Christina ‘Tina’ MacLellan.
Mary Margaret is survived by five children, Alexander ‘Sandy’ (Judy); Elizabeth ‘Betty’ (Tim O’Neill); Mary Avitus Shields; Nancy Cecilia (Hector Briand) and Shawn Hector. Mary is also survived by five grandchildren, Lyndsay; B.J.; Jonathan; Darien and Johnathen, as well as two sisters, Mrs. Avitus Cameron and Mrs. Cecilia Daye, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, Hector Joseph MacNeil and brothers, Stanley and Duncan MacLellan.
Visitation for Mrs. MacNeil will take place on Tuesday, April 26 from 7-9 p.m. at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, Westmount. Interment in the parish cemetery.
