On August 5, 2009, George Dean beloved husband to Iola (Receveur) Dean, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a short stay in the Victoria Hospital. George was born January 15, 1916 at Rama, SK to Jessie (Rattray) Dean and George Dean Sr. He moved to Prince Albert in high school and graduated at PACI. After completing business college he worked 40 years for Northway Chev Olds formerly Boyd Bros. and Peters Motors managing Buffalo Service. He married Iola Receveur in 1937 in Prince Albert and enjoyed 72 years of marriage. George was an avid lover of music playing his trumpet for dances in his younger years and the trombone later. He loved singing and was a member of his church choir until the age of 89. He joined the Barbershop Singers and sang until his late 80’s. He and Iola spent 21 winters in Arizona where he directed a 35-voice choir for 18 years. George is survived by his loving wife Iola; his children Marlene Yungwirth, Jim and Angela (Fitzgerald) Dean, Ken and Gertie (Swertz) Dean; his grandchildren Debbie (Shawn) Croden, Donna (Mike) Rychlo, Ron (Anne) Yungwirth, Tom Yungwirth, Karen (Bryan) Paulhus, Susan (Sheldon) McDougall, Mike (Karla) Yungwirth, Cathy (Gordon) Hirschfeld, Amanda (Brandon) Van Unen (Jessica (Chris) Delaney, Christie Dean (Kelly Melling), Josh and Celina Dean; his 23 great grandchildren; his sisters Donna (Wally) Russel, Georgie (Bob) Shaw; his brothers Alec Dean, Roly Dean, Harry (Elsie) Dean; his brother-in-law Herb Receveur and sister-in-law Lois Receveur. He was predeceased by his parents George and Jessie Dean; his mother and father-in-law Charles and Opal Receveur; his beloved granddaughter Samantha Dean; his son-in-law Arnie Yungwirth; his 2 sisters Mary Hodges and Doris Receveur; his brother Donn Dean; his brother-in-law Glenn Receveur. Funeral service will be held at a later date. It is the family’s request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to a charity of donor’s choice.
