OZMUN – Fern
January 12, 1927 – August 5, 2009
It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of Fern Ozmun on August 5th at the age of 82 years. Fern was born on January 12, 1927, where she was raised on a farm near Davis, SK. As a young woman she worked at the Met Dept. Store, where she met and roomed with Evelyn Ozmun, through whom she met and later married Vern Ozmun on May 7, 1955. After marrying Vern, they travelled across western Canada while dad worked on the pipelines. They later started farming in Davis, having beef cattle, then later dairy. Mom always loved living on the farm, and she was always involved at school functions, track meets and fowl suppers. When family or friends needed help, she was always there for them. Fern is survived by her husband Vern of 54 years; her children Bruce (Patti), Blair (Yvette) and Sharon (Pat); her grandchildren Kalie, Krista, Kylie, Jessica and Jared; her great grandchildren Jayden and Tesa; numerous nieces and nephews and her loving friend Velma Young. She was predeceased by her parents Jack and Mary McMullen; her brothers Bill McMullen and Alex McMullen and her sister Margret Campbell. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2009 at St. John’s Royal Anglican Church, with the Reverend Joanne Beacon officiating, call Gray’s Funeral Chapel at 922-4729 for directions.
