On August 5, 2009, Kenneth Alexander Timmons, our father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, went home to his Lord and Savior.
At the time of his death, he was a resident of Victoria Haven Nursing Home, Glace Bay, NS. For most of his life, he was a resident of Scotchtown, NS.
Born in Pleasant Bay, July 15, 1920, he was the son of the late Bella Jane (Fraser) Blewer and Alexander Timmons. He was married to his loving wife, Celeste Williams, for 54 years.
Kenny worked for 37 years at No 12 Colliery, was a veteran of the Second World War, a former member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 15, New Waterford, and a member of the New Waterford Pensioners Club.
Kenny lived a very full and active life. He was deeply involved in his community in many ways. Kenny coached sports for over 30 years, including softball, baseball, fastball, floor hockey, broom ball, and ice hockey.
It was very well known that Kenny Timmons was your guy if you were suffering any hardship. Within hours, he would organize a benefit concert with many of his friends performing. He was known to sing a song or two himself. Whatever the need, big or small, he was there.
Kenny was honoured as a community volunteer; he was inducted into the Cape Breton Sports Hall of Fame; he was honored at the New Waterford Coal Bowl; and he was an honorary member of the Scotchtown Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his very special friend, Frances Cox, who could always bring a smile to his face. He is also survived by his children, Kenny (Aggie), Bunny (Rose), Barbara (Gary), Nick (Colleen), Heather, and Robin. He was lovingly known as “Papa†to his 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Kenny is also survived by one brother, Danny Blewer, who is a resident of Victoria Haven Nursing Home.
Kenny was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife; brothers, Alex, Duncan, Freddie, Robert, John, Vince, Frank, and Jerry and sisters, Florence, Jessie, Goldie, and Betty.
“Da†touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed by anyone who knew him.

Always a smile, instead of a frown. Always a hand, when one is down. Always true, thoughtful, and kind. Wonderful memories he has left behind.
