It is with great sadness that we the family of Mary Ryan, announce her passing on Friday, August 7, 2009 at the Victoria Haven Nursing Home in Glace Bay, NS.
Born in Inverness to the late Ignatius and Emma (MacDonald) Ryan. Mary and her family moved to New Waterford, where she was raised and resided, until she was moved to the Victoria Haven Nursing Home 32 years ago.
Mary is survived by her brother, Lenny (Eva) Ryan, New Waterford; her sister-in-law, Bucky Ryan, also of New Waterford. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, especially Emma, Grace and Thelma, along with her extended family and friends of Victoria Haven.
Mary was predeceased by her sister, Annie Hicks and five brothers, Gerard, Mike, Joe, Hughie and Alexander.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. in the Parish of St. Leonard/Mount Carmel Church with interment at the parish cemetery. All are invited to join the family for a reception at St. Agnes Hall.
