Passed peacefully away at home on April 22nd, 2011, Thomas Joseph O’Brien, of Bell Island, age 82 years. Predeceased by his wife Doris (1983), son Ronald (1967), grandson Thomas (1977) and son-in-law Earl Budgell (2009). Leaving to mourn daughters: Joan Budgell, Carol O’Brien, Edith Curnew (Patrick), Gail Burke (Bill); sons: Thomas (Jenna), Gary (Dianne), Walter (Gail); daughter-in-law Kathleen; 19 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, all of whom he cherished; caregiver and friend Wanda Noseworthy; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; many of which he met during his career as a heavy equipment operator “Catskinner.” Resting at Pendergast’s Funeral Home on Monday and Tuesday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to take place on Wednesday, April 27 2011 at 2 p.m. from St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Bell Island. Interment to follow at St. Boniface Cemetery, Bell Island. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
