Surrounded by family, Ben Dunne (Oakville, ON) passed away on the evening of October 14, 2017 following a short illness. His passing is deeply felt by his family, including wife Miriam (nee Docherty, formerly of Charlottetown), daughter Karen Hibbins (Brodie), granddaughters Audrey, Sadie and Lucy, brother-in-law Louis Docherty and sister-in-law Gwen Livingston (nee Docherty), as well as siblings Dorothy, Rosemary, Catherine, Eric, Ronald and Patricia (predeceased by sister Margaret). Born on Boxing Day in a small town in Montreal in 1947, Ben grew up in Montreal. He spent 45 years working with Scotiabank, starting as a travelling auditor in the 1970s, which would take him to cities and towns across Canada as well as several islands in the Caribbean. It was during a stop in Charlottetown in 1973 that he fell in love with both Miriam and the island. They would come back to the south shore every year, spending time at cottages in Hampton and Argyle Shore. Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held on the island next summer.
