Martin, Kenneth Martin, 86, Hilden, passed away Thursday April 14, 2011 at home. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Walter and Winifred (Upham) Martin. Ken served overseas during the Second World War with the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1941 to 1945 and remained in the Air Force for 25 years until his retirement in 1967.
He is survived by a son Kenneth Michael of Penticton, BC; brother William Rex (Willa) of Ingersoll, ON; granddaughters, Kristin Martin and Shelley Sopp (Joel); 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will commence at 1 pm, followed by The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26, Truro, Legion Tribute Service at 1:45, directly followed by funeral service at 2 pm, Thursday, April 28th, all in the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Rev. Gary Yetman will officiate with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hilden Cemetery, Hilden. Donations in memory may be made to the Colchester Regional Hospital, The C.N.I.B. or to a charity of choice.
