We sadly announce the passing of Thomas Charles Davis in his 88th year on October 3, 2017.
Tom was the youngest of four children born to Arden and Faith Davis of England who immigrated to Canada settling in Hamilton, Ontario where Tom was born in a rented house on Tuxedo Avenue.
Predeceased by brothers Leslie and John. Tom is survived by his wife Janet, his sister Marjorie Usher (nee Davis), his sons Michael, Paul and Robert and grandchildren Charlotte and Morgan.
Employed for over forty years with North American Refractories Company located in Caledonia Ontario, Tom achieved the position of Vice President and General Manager.
He felt it important that his family see Canada from coast to coast, so several summer family camping trips were made traveling by road thru Northern Ontario, east to Prince Edward Island and west to British Columbia.
A self confessed news junkie, avid reader and a long time CBC listener, he often said that everything he knew he learned from the New Yorker magazine.
Tom was a thoughtful, intelligent man with an appealing sense of humour, a genuine social conscience and an admirable work ethic.
Cremation has taken place. A family gathering celebrating Tom's life has occurred. He is greatly missed by his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the CNIB.
