Hall, Elizabeth (Betty) Nee Weatherall
Betty passed away on April 23, 2011 at Providence Place in Moose Jaw at the age of 92 after celebrating 70 years of marriage to her beloved husband Lloyd. She was predeceased by her eldest son Lloyd, brothers John (Anne) and Robert of Vancouver, and sisters Sarah and Violet of Scotland. She will be missed by her sons Stewart (Marilyn), Bruce (Joan) of Florida, Bradley of Ontario, daughter in-law Sharon, and by her grandchildren Chris of Ontario, Douglas (Debby) and great-grandchildren Brandon and Alyssa Marie of Medicine Hat. Betty served for 5 years with the WAAF during WWII briefly as a parachute packer, later transferring to a teletype operator at RAF Headquarters, where she met and married her husband Lloyd. Her son Lloyd was born in Scotland and in 1946 Betty traveled to unite with her husband in Canada where they settled in Winnipeg and later in Ontario. Betty never forgot her Scottish heritage and she and her husband joined the Sons of Scotland and the Cairn Gorme Club in Toronto where they enjoyed many years of Scottish and Ballroom dancing. After they retired, they wintered in Florida for 18 years where they helped form the Ceilidh Club, teaching Scottish Set Dancing and holding the Annual Tartan Ball. Betty and her husband moved to Moose Jaw in 1990. The family wishes to thank the staff of Pioneers Lodge and Providence Place for the excellent care Betty received while in their care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society. A private ceremony will be held for Betty at Parkview Funeral Chapel, with Major Don Law officiating.
