Peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday, August 9, 2009, of James Maurice Callaghan of the Garden Home and formerly of Fort Augustus, age 81 years. Beloved husband of the late Cora Callaghan (nee Peters) and loving father of Robert (Norine), Wayne (Vicki), Corinne Reid (David) and Lisa Callaghan (George Halliwell). James is also survived by his grandchildren, Matthew and Grace Halliwell, Keith and Brandy Golder and Emilee Callaghan; brother, Joseph Callaghan; and sisters, Mary Hubley (John - deceased), Shirley Callaghan, Donna Callaghan and Colleen MacRae (Joe - deceased). He was predeceased by his parents James and Annie Callaghan; brothers, Francis and Edward Callaghan; and sister, Ernestine Bevan. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford for visitation on Tuesday, August 11, 6-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at St. Patrick\'s Church, Fort Augustus, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
