Passed away peacefully on Friday, April 15, 2011, at Humber River Regional Hospital (Church Site) in his 84th year.
Garfield, beloved husband of the late Lillian. Loving father of Norman (Susan), Wayne (Yvonne), Vivian (Doug), Maurice (Faye) and Bob (Sharon). Proud Grandpa of Lisa (Kenn), Natalie, Noel, Orville, Dorville, Victoria, Kyle and June. Garfield will be fondly remembered by all of his family and friends both here, in Nova Scotia and P.E.I.
Garfield was predeceased by his parents, Philip and Laura (Farrell) Steele of P.E.I. and Pictou, N.S.; sister, Lois Fanning; brothers, Bill, Lester and Chessel Steele.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the care given to Garfield at Humber River Regional Hospital (Church Site).
Resting at the Scott Funeral Home (West Toronto Chapel), 1273 Weston Rd. (1 light north of Eglinton Ave. W.) on Monday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be in our chapel on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
