Peacefully, at Chartwell Lancaster Long Term Care on Friday, November 17, 2017 at the age of 80. Carmen passed away on the day of her 61st Wedding Anniversary to her beloved husband Lionel Rochon. Loving mother of Carole Lavigne (late Michel), Mireille “Mimi” Giroux (Normand), Michel Rochon (Gail), Andre Rochon (Carole) and Monique Quesnel (Rene). Proud grandmother of Diane (Shawn), Eric (Kit), Jean-Normand (Angela), Josée, Julian (Stephanie), Yannick (Andrea), Sophie (Louis-Philippe), Mélissa (Yannik) and Vanessa (Patrick); and great grandmother of Mathieu, Marise, Zacharie, Patricia, Miguel, Veronica, Sydney, Jacob, Riley, Gracie and Brooke. Daughter of the late Emilien Chenier and the late Jeanne Chenier (née Vendette). Carmen will be fondly remembered by her extended family, neighbours and friends. Family and friends are requested to gather at the Salon Funéraire Glengarry Funeral Home, 580 Main St. S., Alexandria, (613) 525-3400 on Thursday, November 23, 2017 from 7-9 pm and on Friday November 24, 2017 from 9:30-10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at Église Sacré-Coeur, Alexandria on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 11 am. A reception will follow at the Salon Funéraire Glengarry Funeral Home Reception Centre. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
