THIBODEAU, RITA - Rita (Richard) Thibodeau, 82, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at the Centre hospitalier universitaire Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont, Friday, April 29th, after a long illness. Born in Acadieville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Suzanne (Richard) Richard. Rita will be sadly missed by her husband of 52 years, Henri; her sisters: Florence (late Antoine) Daigle of Acadieville, Maria of Moncton, Imelda (late Laurie) Fournier of Dieppe and Jeanne of Dieppe; her brothers Alyre (Muriel) of Saint John, Camille (Thelma) of Moncton and Jean of Moncton. Three brothers, Ovila. Antoine, and Camille (who died at an early age) predeceased her. She also leaves two sisters in law, Mathilda (late Ovila) of Saint John, Elva (lateAntoine) of Moncton and 52 nephews and nieces. The couple lived in Toronto for many years where Rita worked as a cashier at Dominion stores. Following their retirement, they moved to Moncton where they enjoyed travelling and volonteer work at Dr. G.-L.-Dumont Hospital. She was a member of the Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix parish and the Golden Age Club.
Resting at the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street in Dieppe (857-1901, www.chartersville.com) with visiting Monday, May 2nd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, from 9:30 a.m. until departure for the funeral. The funeral service will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-la Paix Church, 87 Murphy Ave. in Moncton on Tuesday, May 3rd at 1l:00 a.m.
