Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Complex, following a lengthy illness on November 27, 2017, Max Vere-Holloway. Predeceased by parents Henry and Martha Vere-Holloway, brother Percy and sister Lillian, brothers-in-law Peter and Mick Manning. Leaving to mourn devoted and loving wife Loretta (nee Manning), sons Terry and Todd (Chantielle) and granddaughter Eleanor, sisters Shirley (Ray Hiscock), Alma (Fred Osmond, deceased), Olga Bursey, Monya (Hubert Driscoll), Vickie Brace (John Turnbull) and Karen (Keith Abbott), brothers Harry (Sandy) and Derek (Mary), sisters-in-law Glendine (Bruce Whalen), Sadie Manning and a large circle of family and friends. Max was a life-long and loyal member of the Kinsmen Club of St. John's East. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Thursday, November 30th, 2017 from 2-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Dec. 1, 2017 at Memorial United Church, Portugal Cove at 2 p.m. Interment in United Church Cemetery, Bauline Line, Portugal Cove.
