It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ralph Bruce McWhirter announce his passing on Friday, December 1, 2017, at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, at the age 78 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his daughter Jennifer (Corwin); grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Devin; sisters: Judy (Norb) Joyce and Elizabeth Ryder; sister-in-law Linda (Don) Sweeney; brother-in-law Wayne (Marina) Sexton; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Doreen McWhirter, parents, brothers Harry (Mary) McWhirter and Fred (Madge) McWhirter, sisters Marjorie (Jack) Ryan, Lottie (Gord) Reid, Laureen (Howard) Park, Alice Burggraaf, Shirley (Len) Clarke and Barb Murphy. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Sunday from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 4 at 11 a.m. from Humber United Church, Clarence Street with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
