MORRISEY, J. THOMAS - Thomas J. Morrisey, 73, of Dartmouth, passed away on April 28, 2011, at home surrounded by family. Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Tom was the son of the late Tom and Margaret (Johnson) Morrisey. He is survived by his wife, Nicole (Ferguson); son, Charles (Melissa Lee); daughters Traci (John Trainor), Sheri (Fred Kinney); a grandson, Sean; and a granddaughter, Regan; a brother, Daniel; and two sisters, Marjorie and Joanne. Thérèse and Keith Coughlan, Gaby and Pierre Gagné, Phil and Denise Ferguson, and Rose-Marie (late Camille) Curry, and their children, as well as precious friends, were a loving part of his extended family. A graduate of StFX, he completed a Masters Degree in Education at U of T, and obtained his doctorate from the University of Maine at Orono. He began his teaching career at St. Patrick's High School in Halifax, and then became vice principal at a school in Goose Bay, NL. The greater part of his career was spent as professor of Science Education and Environmental Studies at UNB in Fredericton. Tom was an avid reader and outdoor enthusiast who loved fishing, hunting, and working in the woods.
