CROOK, Allan Moyes - M/C – 87 of Kingston, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2011 in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Dartmouth, he was a son of the late Andrew and Helen (Cameron) Crook. Allan served in the R.C.A.F from 1942 to 1947 and he re-enlisted in 1955 retiring in 1973 as a Master Corporal. He was then employed with Twin Cities Dairy, Middleton from 1973 to 1983, retiring at the age of 60. Allan was a Life Member of the Kingston Lions Club and was awarded “Lion of the Year” in 2002-2003. Surviving besides his wife the former Carrie (Clark) Acker are daughter, Michelle (Mikel) Ward, Ottawa; son, Cameron (Denise) Crook, Maple Ridge, BC; sisters, Evelyn (Gordon) Stewart, Dartmouth; Marjorie (Frank) Terris, Westville, NS; brothers, Drewie Crook, Dartmouth ; Kenneth Crook, Berwick; grandchildren, Courtney and Bradley (Kate); great granddaughter, Piper; step-children Richard (Donna) Acker, Kingston and Cheryl (Bryan) Theriau, Canaan, Kings County; 4 step-grandchildren, Christopher and Gregory Theriau and Adam and Andrew Acker. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Terrie and granddaughter, Kendra Ward. Visitation was held 7-9 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011 in the Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448. A funeral service beginning with a Lion’s Tribute Service was held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1st. in the Kingston Baptist Church, Rev. Leon Langille officiating. Interment in the North Kingston Cemetery followed by a reception at the Kingston Lion’s Hall. By request, family flowers only.
