It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear daughter and mother, Linda Guy, on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, at home.
Born in New Brunswick, Linda was the daughter of Joyce (MacKinnon) Fraser and the late Warren Fraser.
Linda had been employed for many years with Woolco and later Wal-Mart, in Sydney, retiring just a few years ago to care for her mother. She was a very active member and elder, of St. Matthew Wesley United Church, North Sydney. She volunteered her time serving as Mission and Service treasurer, chairperson of the church Outreach Committee, as well as being involved with Beavers for many years.
Linda enjoyed creating things of beauty with her hands, from painting, to working with wood and stained glass.
She is survived by her mother, Joyce, and her loving son, Scott, and his wife Linda, of Williamswood, N.S.
Visitation for Linda will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Saturday, from St. Matthew Wesley United Church, with Rev. David Luker, officiating. Cremation to follow.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or any charity.
