Suddenly at her home on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, of L. Joan MacArthur of Slemon Park, formerly of Northam, aged 77. Born in Northam on Dec. 7, 1931, daughter of the late Horace and Wilna (Millar) MacArthur. Dear sister of Eldon (Jean) MacArthur, Tyne Valley, Priscilla (Ira) Strongman, Summerside, Ronald (Shirley) MacArthur, Northam. Niece of Pauline Millar, Tyne Valley. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother, Clifford. Resting at the Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel with visiting hours Thursday 6-9 p.m. Funeral on Friday at the Tyne Valley Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in the Church Cemetery. Memorials to the Tyne Valley Presbyterian Church would be appreciated.
