Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on Monday, May 2nd, 2011 William Penney Moss, age 94. Predeceased by his wife Doris E. Moss, parents Robert and Florence Moss, brother Lloyd (Amy) Moss, sisters Ethel (Josiah) Greening, Marion (John) Madill. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his sons Wayne (Georgina), Bill both of Gander; daughters Penny of Gander, Bonnie (Bill) Brown of Prince George, B.C., Florence (Paul) Sullivan of Grand Falls-Windsor; brother Robert of Summerville; sisters Vera Petterson of Ontario, Anne Lane of Ontario, Violet (Clem) Humby of Summerville; grandchildren Tara, Mike, Chad, Steven, Robert, Michael; great-grandchildren Manuelle, Olivia, Carter, Preston, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. During his life, Mr. Moss was a member of the Newfoundland Board of Trade, Elks Club, Gander Rotary Club, Gander and Area Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts of Canada where he was a Leader for 30 years, and recipient of Gander’s First Citizen-of-the-Year Award. Resting at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander. Viewing Tuesday, 7:00-9:00 p.m., Wednesday 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral services Thursday, May 5th, at 2:00 p.m. from St. Martin’s Anglican Cathedral, Gander. Internment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in William’s memory may be made to the Janeway Sick Children’s Hospital or Ronald McDonald House.
