Passed away peacefully in Queensway Carleton Hospital on Monday, August 3, 2009. Son of the late Percy and Elizabeth (Boutilier) Whitney. Survived by wife Etta, 11 children, sister Lorna MacVicar, Glace Bay. Predeceased by two sons, one sister and eight brothers. Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Bob moved to Ontario after serving in WWII, where he taught mechanics for ten years. A self-taught musician, Bob played several instruments and was with the Ottawa Valley Melodiers. He also appeared on the Don Messer Show. Private interment will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
