It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife and mother, Jean MacLean, on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, in the Alderwood Rest Home, Baddeck.
Born in Bridgetown, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Dr. Arthur and Ruth (Burns) Deckman.
Jean graduated as a registered nurse from the Moncton General Hospital School of Nursing. From there she went on to Camp Hill Hospital in Halifax, where she would meet her husband George. They would spend many years living in Boston and later, British Columbia, enjoying boating and swimming; as Jean continued her career working as a nursing supervisor. Soon after her retirement, Jean and George settled in Englishtown.
Besides her husband George, she is survived by her loving son, Ken, also of Englishtown.
There will be no visitation by request. A grave side committal service for Jean will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, from the Riverside Cemetery, in Skir Dhu, Victoria County, with Diane Kempt DLM, officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, North Sydney.
