Alberta (Bertie) Brentnell (nee Allcock) passed away peacefully May 3, 2011 at the age of 91. She is predeceased by her husband Jim, parents Clifton and Nora, son Robert, brothers Norman and Arthur and sister Viola King. Bertie will be lovingly remembered by son Dennis (Anne), daughter-in-law Linda, sister Leah Harlton, seven grandchildren, sixteen great-¬grandchildren, one great-great grandson, nieces, nephews and friends. Bertie was born in 1920 in Belle Plaine. She married Jim Brentnell in 1939 and they celebrated their 71st Wedding Anniversary in 2010. They raised their sons Dennis and Bob in Belle Plaine and farmed in the area for many years. They moved to Moose Jaw in 1977. Bertie was an accomplished pianist/organist and shared her gift with many including the Belle Plaine United Church and Saint Andrews United Church. Bertie created works of art with her beautiful petit point pictures. Family was very important to Bertie; she enjoyed watching everyone grow and delighted in their accomplishments. Thank you to the Extendicare staff for the wonderful care provided to Bertie. The Celebration of Bertie’s life will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Monday May 9, 2011 at 1:30 pm. Della Ferguson will officiate. Memorialization will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Sask. Heart & Stroke Foundation, 279 Third Ave. N., Saskatoon, S7K 2H8.
