At Western Hospital, Alberton on Wednesday April 6, 2011 Boyd Hammond Shaw, Maplewood Manor Alberton, formerly of Haliburton, aged 87 years, veteran of the Second World War, husband of the late Doris (Morrison) Shaw. Born in Haliburton on Nov. 9, 1923, son of the late Edward and Annie (Sinclair) Shaw. Dear father of Norma Shaw, Haliburton; Peggy Ann Falkner (Ken Perkins), Barrie, Ont. Loving grandfather of Mylissa Falkner, Montreal; Michael Quirk and Amanda Quirk and great grandfather to Loik, Amelia and Kieran. Son in Law Joe Quirk, Sutton, Ont. Dear brother of Reagh (Glennis) Shaw and Gerald (Freda) Shaw, all of O'Leary and sisters in law Vera Shaw, Vancouver Island; Marion Shaw and and Winnie Shaw, both of O'Leary. Predeceased by his parents, wife, daughter Yuta Quirk, son Kevin, brothers Reg, Reagh (infancy), Lorne, Glen and sister Gladys. Resting at Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O'Leary with the funeral in the Chapel on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. Visiting hours 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment to follow in the Springfield West Baptist Cemetery. Members of the St Anthony's Royal Canadian Legion, Bloomfield will hold a service of remembrance for their late comrade at the funeral home on Friday, May 6 at 11:45 a.m. Memorials to the O'Leary Community Health Foundation or Alzheimer Society of PEI would be appreciated.
