CLARKE, Joseph – Passed peacefully away at the Caribou Memorial Veterans’ Pavilion, Joseph Clarke on August 14, 2009 in his 93rd year; World War II Royal Navy Veteran and longtime employee of the CBC. Predeceased by his wife Mary (nee Hollingsworth of Liverpool, England) in 1999 and his son-in-law Tony Allen in 1995; parents George Peddle Clarke and Lucy Ann Clarke; brothers Edgar, Harry, Andrew and Ralph; sisters Edith (Earle) and Mildred. Left to celebrate his life, sons Dr. Harry Clarke (Marie), David and Allan (Bernadette); daughter Sylvia Allen; grandsons Harrison, Adam and Bradley; his loving sister Pearl Bloom in Connecticut and sister-in-law Mary Clarke; also many relatives and friends. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Caribou Memorial Veterans’ Pavilion for their excellent care during the past eight years. Visitation at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Sunday, August 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Monday, August 17 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
