Ruth Harriet MacSween, 97, of Sydney, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at the Cove Guest Home.
Born in Sydney on Intercolonial Street, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Mary Louise (Irish) Pushie.
Ruth is survived by sons, Glenn (Judy) and David (Chewye), Sydney. Ruth also leaves five grandchildren, Russell, Ingrid, Ruth, Rachael and Margaret as well as six great-grandchildren.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband, H/Capt. Rev. N. Russell MacSween, a war casualty in England in 1944 and her daughter, Heather in 1996.
Ruth was a faithful member of First United Church, Sydney, where she had been employed as church secretary for 25 years.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Aug. 20, at 2 p.m. at First United Church with Rev. Thomas Whent officiating.
