March 14, 1928 - May 5, 2011. Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family on May 5, 2011 at the Health Sciences Centre, Marg Thorne of Portugal Cove, aged 83 years. Left with fond and loving memories her daughters Yvonne Butler (Keith), with whom she resided, and their children Brian, Allison and Stephen; Linda Mitchell (Neil) and their children Melissa (Eddy) and Megan; Mary Burt (Aubrey) and their children; Melanie (Drew), Shawn (Michelle), Mitchel (Kim) and Leanne (John); sons Herb (Theresa) and their children Natasha and Ashley; Sheldon and his children Samantha, Brandon and their mother Karen; seven great-grandchildren Sara, Carter, Madison, Nolan, Bryce, Nicholas and Grady; sister Flora Churchill (Ambrose) and sister-in-law Marie Mitchell, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, especially Laura Whelan and Rodney Squires. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Saturday, May 7, 2011 from 12 noon to 9 p.m. and on Sunday, May 8, 2011 from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral service to take place from St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at St. Lawrence Anglican Cemetery.
