The passing of Joseph Michael Bourque of Fredericton, N.B., occurred on Saturday, August 15, 2009, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 22, 1990, in Fredericton, N.B., Joseph was the much loved only child of Ronald Bourque (Carla Bennett) and Catherine (MacFarlane) Bourque (John Henderson). For the last year, he worked as a service technician at Jim Gilberts Wheels and Deals service center. Joseph looked forward to his regular workouts with his dad at Naturally Fit Gym. He also shared his dad’s love of classic rock. His love of music extended into playing guitar. He was passionate about his 85 Chevy. Joseph was especially devoted to his grandparents. He had great affection for animals especially his dog Sid and cat Millie. In addition to his parents, Joseph is survived by his two brothers, Matthew and Brandon; one sister, Jennifer; his paternal grandparents Roger and Claire Bourque; three aunts, Caroline MacLean (Frank), Lise Bourque (Steve), Lynda MacFarlane (Steve); one great aunt Phyllis Roberts; Special Grandmother Gail Harnett. Joseph was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Earl and Ruby MacFarlane. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Dr., Fredericton, on Monday, August 17, 2009, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will take place at St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. with Father Aaron Knox officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Brandon Bennett, Matthew Bennett, Brandon McCrea, Logan Lennen, Andrew Hachey and Tyler Nash. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the SPCA, or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
