It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Evangeline Margaret Dixon, 83, of South Harbour passed away peacefully Saturday, May 7, 2011, in Highland Manor, Neils Harbour.
Born in South Harbour, Victoria County, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Annie Effie (Dunphy) Petrie. Evangeline was a great homemaker and a member of St. Joseph’s parish and a life time member of St. Joseph’s CWL.
She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 66 years, Thomas Dixon; children, Evelyn Dixon, Calvin (Karen) Dixon, Leonard (Irene) Dixon, Deborah (Melvin) Burton, Jean (Lawrence) Walsh, Nina (Richard) Connors; grandson, James (Cheryl) Dixon; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Boudreau.
Besides her parents, Evangeline was predeceased by her sisters, Voila Ingraham, Susie Fricker and Theresa Chiasson.
Visitation for the late Evangeline Dixon will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Monday, May 9. Funeral Mass 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 10 both in St. Joseph’s Church, Dingwall, Fr. Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dingwall.
Donations in Evangeline’s memory may be made to the Highland Manor or the palliative care unit at the Buchanan Memorial Hospital.
