1951 ~ 2011

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing our dear father, Gerald Dayle Nord of Kamloops, BC on April 18th, 2011, at the age of 59.

Gerald will be lovingly remembered by his children; Tammy Lockhart of Dawson Creek, BC, Michael (Alison) Nord of Vernon, BC, and Kelly Nord of Kelowna, BC. He will also be missed by his grandchildren; Bailey, Aidyn, and Oliver, families of his sister Faye (John) Topping of Vernon, and brother Brian (Geri) Nord of Edmonton, Alberta, as well as his dear friend Jesse James.

Gerald was predeceased by his infant son Ivan Nord, parents Leslie and Margaret Nord, and the wonderful mother of his children, Bonnie Nord.

He leaves behind a number of good friends, numerous supporters and sponsors of the AA family, and those who have gotten to know him through his network of jobs and professions.

Born in Coaldale, Alberta and raised on a farm in Glaslyn, Saskatchewan, Gerald learned the meaning of hard work and gained an appreciation for the simple pleasures in life.

Gerald's strong faith in God guided him through the many trials and tribulations he endured throughout his journey on Earth.

He was a shy soul that lived a very modest life. Those in Gerald's life will remember him for his generous, caring spirit and willingness to help others, as well as for his sense of humor, and great pride for his children and grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2011 in the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive.

Expressions of sympathy may be made through donations to the Salvation Army.

An interment will be held in Gerald's home town of Glaslyn, Saskatchewan at a later date.
