Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital in the presence of his loving family Saturday, May 7, 2011, Thomas Butland aged 86 years of O’Donnell’s, St. Mary’s Bay. Predeceased by his wife Margaret (nee McEvoy) (1995), parents: Michael & Annie Butland, brothers: Leo, Stephen & Bernard, sisters: Sarah Gregory & Laura Daley. Left with fond and loving memories are his daughter, Maureen Synyard (Frank), 5 grandchildren: Russell (Janine), Elliott, Francine, Thomas, Brian and great-grandson, Evan, brothers: Michael (Patricia), Dermot (Vera), sisters: Marguerite Hickey, Katherine Daley, sister-in-law; Mildred Butland, brothers-in-law, Al Daley, John Francis McEvoy (Helen), and a circle of extended family and friends. Visitation on Sunday from 5 - 9 pm, Monday from 10 am - 9 pm, Funeral will take place at pm on Tuesday, May10, 2011 with Mass of Christian Burial from St. Joseph’s Church, St. Joseph’s.
