CHASE, William MacKenzie “Bill” - 84, of Cambridge, Kings County, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, on August 30, 1926, he was the son of the late William A. and Hattie B (Neville) Chase. Bill was employed with Goodyear Tire Company - Quality Control, in Toronto for 45 years and upon retirement returned to the Valley and resided in Cambridge. Bill was a cartoonist and has done many drawings for folks in Ontario and throughout the Valley here. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch No. 6, Kentville as well as the New Horizons Seniors Club. Bill was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by nephews, Bob Masters, Bill Brown, Mike and Sandy Forbes; nieces, Joan Jefferson, Linda Chase, Debbie Crowell and Shelly Buechler; sister-in-law, Betty Chase; several grand nephews and grand nieces. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his dear and special friend, Irene; brothers, David and Harry; sisters, Hazel Brown, Doris Masters and Helen Forbes. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011 in St. James Anglican Church, Kentville, Archdeacon Lynn Uzans officiating. Burial took place in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Kentville. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to St. James Anglican Church.
