Laurella was the daughter of Marie (Peitzsche) Ward and the late Fred (Teddy) Ward.
She is survived by her mother; daughter, Susan, Reserve Mines; son, Scott (Lesley), Glace Bay; sister, Alyce (David Parkes), Stillwater Lake, N.S.; sister-in-law, Rena (Douglas Hill), Bedford, N.S.; nieces, Tracy (Vincent Buker), Cumming, Ga., and Jennifer (Nicolas Berryessa), Roswell, Ga., Carla (Raymond Wambolt), Newport, N.S.; and nephew, Stephen (Michelle) Hill, Hammonds Plains, N.S.
She was predeceased by her husband, George and his parents, Margaret and Stephen Cosnick.
Her happiest times were those spent with her four grandchildren, Alexander, Savannah, Joshua and Alyssa.
Laurella was an active member of Gordon United Church; donations to the church in her memory would be much appreciated.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, May 12, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Gordon United Church, May 13 at 11 a.m. with reception to follow. Burial will be at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
