MacLEOD: Marguerite Jane MacLeod, age 86 years of Kelowna, BC passed away on March 14, 2011. Marguerite (nee: Shrader) was born on her parents farm north of Cadillac, SK on November 24, 1924. She received her education at Bedford Rural School, in Swift Current and Cadillac, SK. After nursing trainig at the Medicine Hat General Hospital, Marguerite worked in Val Marie, SK. and in Swift Current as a Public Health Nurse. She was united in marriage to Murdock Murley "Slim" MacLeod July 12, 1954 and the couple took over the family farm north of Cadillac in 1955. Marguerite and Slim retired in 1979. They spent fourteen winters in Mesa, AZ, where they made many friends. The summer month's were spent at the farm, in Shaunavon and fishing at Williams Lake. Marguerite and Slim travelled to numorous places and she had a life long interest in reading books, cross stiching and playing cards. They moved to reside in Kelowna, AB in 1992. Marguerite was predeceased by her parents father Charles (1972), mother Anne -nee: Cahill- (1979), half-brother Charles Woodrow Schrader (USA), daughter Lynn MacLeod (1970), son Gregory Scott MacLeod (1982) and husband Murdock Murley "Slim" MacLeod (2002). A Celebration of life memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., May 14, 2011 at the family grave sites at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, with Shirley Wilson officiating.
