Passed peacefully away on Saturday, Dec. 30th, 2017, at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Burin, NL, JAMES EUGENE MAYO, in his 80th year. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Edith, sons Edward (Judy), Stoney Creek, ON, Raymond (Janice), Toronto, ON, Wayne, Creston, daughters Anna-Marie Mayo (John), Toronto, ON, Laura, NB; 5 grandchildren, George (Christine), Hamilton, ON, Elizabeth, Hamilton, ON, Sarah, Hamilton, ON, William (Nikita), Toronto, ON, Emily, Toronto, ON, 2 Great grandchildren James Mayo and Scott Mayo; brothers, Henry (Jean), Hubert (Stella), Calvin (Irene), Ivan (Lisa), sisters Anne Smith (Melvin), Rose Sears (Roy), Meg Doucet (Aurele), Jane Hodder (Max), Wilma Stacey (Albert), Diane Snow (Walter), sisters in law Grace Croke, Wanda Mayo, Maria Mayo; and a large circle of extended family and friends.
James is predeceased by his parents George and Bertha Mayo, and brothers Sam, Cyril and Stan Mayo.
Rev. Robert Tuck conducted the Funeral Service at the Calvary United Church, Creston South, on Tuesday, January 02nd, 2018; at 2:00 pm. Interment was at the United Church Cemetery in Creston South, NL.
In James’ memory, donations may be made to the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre.
Pall bearers were Ray Mayo, Wayne Mayo, Ed Mayo, Calvin Mayo, Henry Mayo and Hubert Mayo.
