It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Hiscock, beloved husband of Edith Colter Hiscock (nee MacDonald), at the Foothills Medical Center in Calgary on January 5, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 86. He was surrounded by his family.
Jack was born the ninth of twelve children to John and Olive Hiscock in North Sydney, Nova Scotia on September 15, 1931.
A true adventurer, he left Cape Breton in 1951 to join the RCMP in Regina. He enjoyed a long career that took him too many destinations across Canada. He retired as a Staff Sergeant in Yellowknife in 1979. Jack married the love of his life, Edie MacDonald, in Ottawa in 1962. They recently celebrated fifty-five years of marriage.
Besides his loving wife Edie, Jack is survived his children, Patricia (Malcolm), Jennifer, Ron (Carla), Jacqueline (Tim), Carrie (John); grandchildren, Lauren, Andrew, Courtnay, Kellen, Andrea, Mitchell, Rachael, Aidan and Darragh, and by his sisters, Kathleen, Olive, Adeline, Etta and Joyce.
At Jack's request, no service will be held. A celebration of Jack’s life will take place in the spring, at a time and venue to be announced. Graveside service to follow at Waterside, Nova Scotia in the summer of 2018.
