It is with great sadness that the family of the late GERALD B. MATTERFACE of Boat Harbour announces his passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin on Saturday, January 13th, 2018, at the age of 91. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are son, Almon (Gayle) Matterface of Garnish; daughters, Grace Smith (George Leyte) of Gander, Joan (Fred) Forsey of Fortune, and Mae Cake (Russell Ayers) of Fortune; daughters-in-law, Loretta Matterface of Fortune, and Doris Matterface of Fortune; brother, Dawson (Maisie) Matterface of Boat Harbour; sister-in-law, Caroline Matterface of Boat Harbour; large number of grandchildren & great-grandchildren; plus many family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Matterface; sons, Mansfield, Aubrey, & Morley Matterface; parents, Frederick & Laura Matterface; brother, Hayward Matterface; and sisters, Myrtle Pardy, Buelah Smith, and Mildred Smith.

Funeral Service took place at the United Church in Boat Harbour on Monday, January 15th, 2018, at 2:00 pm. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery in Boat Harbour.
