Passed peacefully away on Monday, August 17th, 2009 at the Evergreen Home For Special Care, Kentville, NS, Mrs. Alice R. Rose of Corner Brook at the age of 91 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Melita (Biff), Bridgewater, NS, Betty (Bill), Avonport, NS, Barbara (Aubrey), Amherstview, ON, Reg (Joanne), Barrington, NS, and John (Sue), Kingston, NS, ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is survived by brother, Peter Hiscock, St. Catherines, ON and sisters-in-law: Gladys Hiscock, Winterton, NL and Mildred Rose, Bishop Falls, NL. Predeceased by husband, Reginald Rose; son, Rowland and brother, Eliol Hiscock. Visitation will take place from Fillatre's Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Thursday from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 21st at 2:00 p.m. from the Cathedral of St. John The Evangelist, Main Street, Archbishop Stewart Payne officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one’s choice. Family flowers only.
