With fond memories Judy (wife), Emily (daughter) and Murray (son) announce the death of Gilbert, husband and father on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 65 years. Leaving to mourn a special sister Yvonne House and her family of Fort McMurray; siblings: Boyd (Lorraine), Max, Ethel (Richard) Park, and Fred all of Gilliams. Rhoda (Clarence) Gillingham of Corner Brook, Ada (Ernest) Shears of Rocky Harbor, Mildred (Ray) George McIvers, and the best buddy a guy could have, Perry Morris and his family, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his loving mother Marjorie, father Kitchener and sister Margaret. A special thank-you to the remarkable Palliative Care team "The Angels" as Gilbert would refer to them, and his family Dr. Peter Callahan for their Compassion and kindness. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Sunday, January 21st from the hours of 2-4 pm, from where a Celebration of Gil’s life will be held at the Chapel on Monday, January 22nd at 2:00 pm with The Very Reverend S. Stewart Payne officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy family are requesting that family and friends to do a random act of kindness.
