Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Lions Manor, Placentia, aged 86 years, James McGrath of Freshwater, formerly of Argentia. Jim is predeceased by his parents, James and Mary Ellen; his sisters: Ida O’Leary, Clara Roache, Mary Davis, Margaret McGrath, Catherine McGrath and Cecilia Duke, and his brothers: John and Richard. Left with fond and loving memories are his sisters: Matilda Howard and Ann McGrath, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews, other relatives, many friends and caring neighbours. Resting at Maher’s Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation on Wednesday, May 11, from 10 – noon, 2 – 5 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. and Thursday, May 12, from 10 – noon. Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, May 12 at 2:00 p.m. from Holy Rosary Church, Freshwater. Interment to follow at the Reverend Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, Southeast Placentia. Jim leaves a legacy of love for family and love for music. May he rest in God’s peace and love for all eternity.
