
Margie “Bunny” Farnell
1922 – 2011
The passing of Margie G. “Bunny” Farnell occurred at the Mira, in Truro, May 8, 2011.
Born in Eureka, she was the daughter of the late John and Aurelia (Frost) Brown.
She is survived by her children: Parker (Betty), Ontario; Colin, BC; Joyce (Hugh) Grant, Truro; five grandchildren: Jacklyn Farnell, Thomas and Katie Farnell, Celyn (Mike) Welsh and Lisa Smith (Al); two great-grandsons, Anthony and Aaron Welsh; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Earl Farnell; infant son, Earl Donald Farnell; brothers: Orman, Charles, Seymore and Lloyd; sisters: Hilda, Estella, Ethel, Catherine, Audrey, and Noreen.
Bunny loved children of all ages and had a sparkle in her eye when around them. She loved the outdoors, knitting and all her friends in the Rebekahs, L.O.B.A. and church choirs she sang in.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 14, in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Riverton Cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
